  E-Power seminar wrap-up

All-Phase Hazleton and PPL Electric Utilities hosted a free informational seminar and lunch on June 17th. The seminar covered the financial benefits of modern, energy efficient, lighting systems. Alongside these direct financial benefits the PPL rebate program was discussed showing how it is more viable than ever to upgrade your lighting.

On June 17th All-Phase Hazleton and PPL Electric Utilities hosted a free information seminar and lunch for representatives from local businesses. The event had Bob Thomas speaking on behalf of PPL Electric to layout the basics of their rebate program and the financial benefits of having modern lighting.

Considering lighting is anywhere between 20% and 35% of a facilities monthly bill, using more efficient lighting sources is very important. The standard T12 Fluorescent lamps and the various forms of metal halide lamps are becoming outdated very quickly. Whether it is a fluorescent or LED option, there is a more efficient, longer lasting lighting system out there than both the T12s and metal halides. When retrofitting an interior it is common to find a mix of high output T5s and T8 lamps to fulfill both highbay and regularly ceiling applications. LED lighting systems now have viable replacements for any traditional lamp as well. With massive energy savings and impressive lifetimes, LEDs are quickly becoming more and more common.

Along with the savings that can be attained by switching to newer lighting systems, PPL’s rebate program offers another level of financial benefit. When making a retrofit, or even new construction, PPL offers many back for switching the lighting systems with higher efficiency. By switching to newer systems you will be saving them power which ends up benefitting everybody. Both Fluorescent systems and LED systems have options that are rebate eligible.
After Bob Thomas spoke Jon Repasch of All-Phase Hazleton presented some of the newer LED lighting options that are stocked. While fluorescent systems are effective and have been around for a long time, LEDs are quickly becoming just as useful. With high durability, an impressive rated life time, and miniscule energy usage, LEDs are getting better and better while their prices slowly drop.

Overall the event ended up being very informative a
